A few seconds later, the floor’s inclination made it difficult to stand, and one of Dr. Malevolent’s lackeys lost his grip. As the man tumbled to certain doom, Captain Rescue reached out to grab him, but he was too slow. In an instant, the nameless man disappeared onto the zombie-covered dance floor. His scream broke suddenly. Captain Rescue cried out for the unlucky lackey.

Then a civilian lost his grip, and the hero snatched the man’s wrist out of the air, barely holding onto him. He turned to Freight. “Give me a hand, please!”

“FINE,” said the giant man. He grabbed the man by the collar and hoisted him back to the edge of the room.

“Thanks!” stammered the man.

Freight nodded curtly.

Charlie grabbed the nearby turntable for support, but he couldn’t hold for long—especially with his plush gloves. That’s when he realized sliding down there intentionally, with guns blazing, might be the best course of action. Before he could act on this clever plan, Freight did it first. As the giant man slid, Charlie wasn’t sure if it was some noble gesture, giving him and the others a fighting chance, or if Freight had just given in to bloodlust. It was his way.

The bunny shrugged and released his grip. He collapsed onto the slanting floor and started sliding. Down below, a row of zombie heads marked the end of the ride. As the downward slope increased, Charlie pointed his assault rifle forward and let them have it, popping heads like punctured balloons. Then he fell onto the dance floor. One by one, the others landed beside him, and the fun began.
